The elliptical cross trainer has matured from a little known specialty unit into a must-have piece of equipment for fitness centers and rooms. The elliptical's low-impact, striding motion makes it a favorite among users of all fitness levels.

Unlike treadmills, elliptical machines reduce impact by not requiring users to lift and strike their feet on and off the walking surface.

And unlike stair climbers, ellipticals do not require users to lean on the handlebars to support their bodies nor do the machines require a jarring up-and-down motion of the legs, both of which can cause hyperextension.

Syracuse Fitness offers commercial elliptical cross-trainers that range in price from $2600 -$5,600. Which one's right for you will generally depend on your budget, the size of your facility, and user preference.

Syracuse Fitness Store can help you weigh the pros and cons of different types of elliptical cross-trainers, manufacturers, and model numbers. Please call at anytime for us to supply you with product catalogs, equipment specifications, and complimentary facility layouts. We also offer free onsite trials of our equipment.

We proudly offer True, Landice, Matrix, Cybex, and Star Trac elliptical machines. Every elliptical machine that we carry will offer upper body handles allowing users to exercise their chest, arms, and shoulders while striding.

True Fitness offers three different ellipticals in their line up. Their most recognized ellipticals are their center drive machines. True was the first to market the centerdrive system in the club setting. For club owners, the machine is a home run. It occupies less space than other machines. It is a safer machine to use by allowing the users easily get on and off the machine. The centerdrive system mechanically will hold up better with less linkage points and wear items.

    True CSX Elliptical

The CSX is True's full commercial elliptical machine. If you anticipate usage to be over 4 hours per day, this is the machine we would encourage. It's movement feels like your running in the clouds. It has rock solid construction and motivating programs. The price of this machine is $5595. Contact us today to set up a demo model in your facility.

    True PSX Elliptical

The PSX is True's center drive light commercial elliptical machine. This machine is intended for a setting where usage is under 4 hours per day. It is knockdown version of the club model, cutting corners where they safely can to keep price down but maintain quality. The price of the PSX is $3595.

    True PS100 Elliptical

The PS100 Elliptical is also considered a light commercial elliptical. The PS100 is ideal for usage under 4 hours per day. This design is commonly referred to as a front drive elliptical. Driven by price, this machine offers an extremely smooth and solid feel. The price of the PS100 elliptical is $2499.

    Landice ElliptiMill

The Landice ElliptiMill is another centerdrive elliptical that is designed for either full commercial and light commercial club use. Most unique about the machine is that it offers adjustable stride lengths at 17", 19", 21" and 23". The ElliptiMill boasts a 500lb weight capacity with an impressive 5 years parts warranty in a club setting. The machine is offered with 3 different electronic packages. Their most basic machine starts at $3295.

    Cybex Arc Trainer

Cybex refuses to be classified as an elliptical. The Arc Trainer is the ellipticals worst enemy. Most clubs and exercise rooms have opted to include both ellipticals and Arc trainers into their product mix. The Arc trainer is more of a skiing motion where the elliptical is more of a running motion. Unique to the Arc Trainer, the machine offers elevation adjustments to target different muscle groups. The machine makes it inviting for a deconditioned person to exercise as well it can challenge an Olympic athlete. The Arc trainer is available with stationary arms and moving arms. Standard Arc Trainer with stationary arms $6295. Total Body Arc Trainer with moving arms $6595.

    Matrix Ascent Trainer

The Ascent trainer is another invention to try and improve on the elliptical concept. The Ascent trainer offers adjustable elevation to change the pitch of the stride. Although other models on the market offer elevation, unique to the Ascent trainer is that it changes in stride length as an elevation adjustment is being made. We like different, and the current trend in clubs and fitness centers, is to offer variation to its users. Although the Ascent Trainer has been around for a couple years, we feel it will start to gain a lot of momentum because it has come out with 3 different models for 2009. The A3x Ascent Trainer is $7295.
